Therapeutic intervention plays a vital role at Tamana Centers. We have a team of trained Rehabilitation professionals who work in coordination to provide better prognosis and intervention strategies for our exceptional needs children/young adults with a multidisciplinary approach. Our therapeutic departments/units are equipped with state of the art technology and equipment of international standards.The services are offered in the course of individual sessions, group therapy, counselling and the Home based outreach programs in delivering a range of services to children/adults with multiple disabilities. Each therapy provided to the differently abled individual helps them to build up his/her personal self-help skills, social skills and enables them to become productive members of society.
The various Interventions offered are:
.The service mainly focuses on assessing and treating children/adults with speech, language and communication difficulty. oromotor problems with eating and swallowing are also addressed. The services are offered by a qualified speech therapist, who addresses and provides intervention plans for different areas of disorders such as Misarticulation, Stuttering/Stammering, Voice disorders, oral motor problem and also provide language therapy to improve social/pragmatic skills in children/adults with special needs.
The occupational therapy is highly specialized and very effective in treating Hyperactivity, Poor eye contact, Poor fine motor skills, poor attention and concentration, Poor handwriting skills, feeding problems and Posture correction. We also work on assessing, evaluating and recommending adaptive modifications of the mobility and postural aids.
Sensory integration therapy is conducted under the guidance of an occupational therapist, in a customized and well equipped sensory integration unit. This service aids to enhance motor functions and serves to optimize the sensory imbalances present in the individuals with developmental disabilities mainly in Autism Spectrum Disorders.
The therapeutic intervention focuses on the development of the functional abilities in children/adults like, Gross Motor skills, Muscle strength, Motor coordination and Postural stability.
People with special needs find it very difficult to comply with the demands and expectations of society, possibly because of their perceived lack of performance or potential. Counselling improves personal development, developing interpersonal skills, induces teamwork and leadership qualities in special needs children.
The school psychological health program promotes the healthy emotional, social, and behavioral development of all the students. It also takes into account the general well-being of school staff and families.
